2022 Great Britain Fastpitch League

Mid season finds the GBFL in a good health. 67 games have been successfully completed with 931 runs scored – the result of countless hits, pitches thrown and plays made. All games professionally umpired, teams coached and managed by selfless individuals who mostly remain nameless and we play on well maintained purpose built dirt fields with outfield fences. We are lucky!

Women’s league

The Mix have yet to drop a game and the teams below are forced to contend with their powerful batting and quality pitching. But the Barbarians aren’t that far behind and play a very tidy game. The Free Agents are benefitting from some stability and are beginning to look more consistent. While they are not yet stringing a lot of wins together, they are beginning to give the teams above an occasional fright. Notably this week a 13-14 loss to the Angels.

Men’s League

The men’s competition is very exciting. The Stags are looking comfortable at the top of the table but two forays abroad to the Von Holmbäck Elite Cup in Denmark and The Zeister Slot Tournament in Holland, may have left them a little weary and they dropped their first game of the season to the Meteors in a 13-14 slugfest. A closer look at the stats shows the Meteors swapping positions with the Eagles into second and watch for the charging Heat – in last place after day one, now in fourth and there’s not a lot dividing 2, 3 and 4!
