The second outing of the season played over the weekend of June 12 was a ‘Mens’ only day highlighted by the stags going top of the league with three solid wins to add to the two they picked up on May 22. It also featured the emergence of ‘both’ Junior GB squads as outfits capable of challenging the more experienced teams. This was particularly shown on week two (May 22) by the GB-u23s challenging the Stags in a tough 3 -4 loss and this weekend in a gutsy, and skilful performance manufacturing a last minute 6-7 win over the ‘tough to defeat’ Meteors. Then in the very next game the plucky GB u19’s took it to the U23’s in a close 6-7 loss. Testament to the hard work by all involved there. It is also worth mentioning that the men’s league now has 9 or 10 solid pitchers capable of keeping their teams in the game, while all teams boast rosters capable of getting hits off them. Surely this bodes well for the future of the men’s league
