2022 Great Britain Fastpitch League

Over the fourth weekend of Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL) play on 30-31 July at Farnham Park, the top teams in both the Women’s and Men’s Divisions cemented their positions — and barring disaster on the final weekend in October, this is unlikely to change.

Both The Mix in the Women’s Division and the Stags in the Men’s Division went unbeaten over the weekend, as both teams warmed up for European Cup tournaments in August.

Further down the standings, though, things are more interesting.

In the Men’s Division, the standings suggest that you can throw a blanket over the second, third and fourth place teams.  The Meteors lead the charge, but not by much, and the Eagles lead the Heat simply by having one less loss.

In the Women’s Division, a big push by the London Angels on the final weekend of the season would give them an outside chance of overtaking the Barbarians to finish in second place.

The Mix and Stags will be returning sharp from international campains in Avigliana in Italy and Prague in the Czech Republic where they represented the GBFL and the country in the European Women’s Cup and European Men’s Super Cup respectively.
